She has curated over forty exhibitions over the past twenty five years, including Art into Life: Russian Constructivism 1914–1932.

Milena Kalinovska visited and had meetings with senior staff at major St. Petersburg museums. These museums and contacts could be of significant interest to the Smithsonian Institution at large.

«I would like to work on exploring possibilities of exchanges of collections, exhibitions and staff with the State Hermitage Museum. I was impressed by major holdings of Malevich paintings and by extensive collection of contemporary Russian art at the State Russian Museum and discussed possibilities for collaboration between the two museums. Thanks to local art historians and curators I visited St.Petersburg artists whom I would like to introduce to the curators of the Hirshhorn Museum».
