Vladimir von Tsurikov

Vladimir von Tsurikov is Director of The Museum of Russian Art (TMORA), which he joined in 2014. Since joining TMORA, he has been actively involved with promoting Russian Art, History, and Culture, by strengthening the museum’s activities in cultural diplomacy. He was previously Director and Curator of the Foundation of Russian History in New York, where he promoted international collaboration with cultural and educational institutions in Russia. Tsurikov has published dozens of articles and frequently appears at conferences, speaking on a wide range of topics.

The Likhachev Foundation is a remarkable and unique organizations. For years, the Foundation has brought fellows to St. Petersburg to conduct research, working on cultural topics broadly. I was lucky to have been chosen as a fellow in 2016, which allowed me to be introduced to scholars, museum professionals, and colleagues, who were able to advise me on several projects that our museum is currently working on. As a result, I was fortunate to establish a collaboration with the Faberge Museum, and the Museum of the History of St. Petersburg, which will be crucial in our project of opening an exhibition on the Siege of Leningrad, to be shown in Minneapolis in February of 2017.
In addition to be able to work on these two important projects, being chosen as a fellow has been a wonderful opportunity to promote the message of cultural diplomacy, so crucial in today’s political environment.
The Likhachev Foundation provides an invaluable service by sponsoring fellows from various countries who all come together with a common goal of promoting  creative and scholarly projects, all of which have direct significance to the Russian cultural experience. A very noble cause! Thank you to all who made this fellowship possible!
